The Reisterstown Figure Skating Club (RFSC) came into existence  May 2, 2011 when the Board of Managers of the Ice Club of Baltimore (ICOB) voted to change its name. On June 1, 2011 the name change was approved by U.S. Figure Skating. For many years the ICOB membership skated at the Northwest Family Sports Center in Baltimore, MD. In 2007, when Northwest closed its doors, the club moved to the Reisterstown sportsplex in Reisterstown, MD.

ICOBwas founded in 1931,and is the oldest figure skating club in the Baltimore area. ICOB has been a member of U.S. Figure Skating since 1934. The club was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1935. Club membership includes beginning and advanced level skaters of all ages; including freestyle skating, ice dance, and synchronized skating. Ice is purchased from Reisterstown Sportsplex for testing, exhibitions, special skating classes, and social events. Ice time is offered independently by Reisterstown Sportsplex.

Changing the name to RFSC reflects the new mission and new home rink. The club looks forward to another 80 years as the Reisterstown Figure Skating Club.

Our Official Mission: The objects and purposes of the Club are to promote and encourage ice skating as a form of amateur sport and recreation; to provide proper facilities therefore; to promote general sociability among its members; and to carry out the general policies and objectives of U.S. Figure Skating.
